How many WPRobot posts per day is smart?

I know it depends on the site, but what would you say is generally smart?

How much per hour / per day is too much?

I would say that more than one per day does not really do any more good. If you are setting it for more than two per day its really just overkill.

Unless Google penalizes for having too many postings, why would above 2 posts per day be overkill? It's just extra content for spiders to scrape, isn't having content the whole point of autoblogs?

I always try and think what would happen naturally i.e. if this were a manual blog and not autoblog.

Usually, there are a lot of posts at the beginning in order to get content on the site and also, due to the enthusiasm of the the blogger himself. Over time, these posts will drop to maybe 2 or 3 per week to say, 1 per week or even 1 per month.

If I were Google, and looking at this from a human perspective, I would be suspicious if you were regularly posting every 1, 5 or 8 hours. However, quite how they analyse and/or penalise this is something that I am unable to comment on with any degree of confidence.

I try and keep it around 10 per day spread out.. I have no rhyme or reason other than to me it doesn't seem unreasonable that an active website will post new content every few hours throughout the day.. I know all the sites worth visiting that I go to post much more than this..

I disagree with one a day.

Autoblog content can truly be garbage, and if you don't want to pay too much attention to it, I would say a sold four to five posts a day is good. That way new posts can cover your homepage but not spill excessively into the second page.
