Yeah I mean we didn't get the typical update penalty I guess since our rankings are coming back slowly (my snippets are still not back unfortunately).

Serious question: What's the relationship between rankings and CTR/ time on page?

In my opinion CTR and TSP are the main factors G uses to establish a website usefulness and authority and give that extra boost in rankings. Imagine this scenario:

Your website is on spot 3 in the 5 top results. All 5 competitors have similar backlink profiles but your websites has an avg CTR of 7% with an avg TSP of 90 seconds. But your competitors have an avg CTR of 4% with avg TSP of 50 seconds.

In this scenario you will hit no. 1 spot in no time and stay there no matter how many backlinks your competion will build.
