I receive one or two complaints daily from readers that the articles are inaccurate.

Will it cause any issues for the blog in the long run?

It may cause issues to some extent.

You're having a good engagement so you can make use of that feedback and correct the reported articles.

Yes, your credibility, why do you even ask?

Yes, you're right. I'll do it if I get reports, but, I'm asking about the legal issues.

I'm asking about the legal issues.
It depends on the kind of content you have.

If your website has ai-commentary about some individual for example and your content has some inaccurate information that shows them in bad taste, they can sue you for defamation/slander.

If you have ai-generated medical advice and it causes the death of someone, somebody can sue you for unauthorised practice, medical negligence and willfully spreading misinformation.

If you have a news site and it generates ai-generated news, you might end up on some fake-news websites watchlist and get a lot of defamation suits from people you generated fake news about.

Several other niches where you can face some legal issues.

AI will not do any of it intentionally. In the worst case, it will show old information, which can cause some issues. For example, if a person died in 2023, AI wouldn't know that and would write an article as if the person were alive. This is what I would call inaccurate. Apart from that, AI will never suggest or recommend home remedies or medical treatments blindly.

After all, I'm from a third-world country, so, US laws are not applicable. @tazarbm and @RoiBox what is your opinion?

if your plan is to keep the site long term fix mistakes and produce good stuff, if its a quick cash grab who cares?

Well the law doesn't care if your ai model did it intentionally or not. Also That ain't how it works mate.

Language models can write basically anything. They can hallucinate whatever tf they want.
There was this case for example where chatGPT lied about some dude about embezzlement. And that's chatGPT with all its guardrails and content filters

, AI will never suggest or recommend home remedies or medical treatments blindly.
Who told you that?

It can technically recommend you anything. It's just a matter of how good your prompts are to bypass the model's guardrails. And if you use a model that has none, it won't hesitate to shit out the most batshit crazy medical treatments you've seen it the prompts are good enough :^)

I meant that AI will not do it until you modify the prompts.

That's not at all correct. Though a raw AI model can write anything, the latest chat-based AIs are extremely fine-tuned to avoid giving answers to illegal questions. For example, ask ChatGPT to talk about child p*rn, and it will never reveal anything that has not been allowed by the US government.

crazy medical treatments
This will not be true again. It will suggest medications with a note like "Don't take these suggestions as medical advice and seek a doctor's advice before taking any medications". There are hundreds of people working to prevent an AI model from giving false and sensitive replies. Don't accuse AI blindly.

These AIs are not real AIs, they are advanced "word predictors", they dont think, they try to guess what word is the best fit to come next, and thats why it can be wrong a lot of times and "lie". Also it depends what models are you using, if you use gpt they care more about fake content but its still impossible to cover all the fake info. If you use open soruce models, which are gaining traction, they are more free and they will just lie about anything. Best way to avoid it is to supply it with information that you know its true and tell it to craft article about it. If you just tell it to craft article about some topic, chances are that it will lie about some things.

It is a major issue for some type of niches or blogs. If you are a good content writer , you should focus on these niches as AI content will fail in these areas.

It can make a big impact in a niche like health. If you post such content on a health blog and the reader suffers some problem because of this, he may even take action against you legally.

definitely if your content is inacurate who will see it because your information is fake, so you might loose traffic if is known that you are posting fake info, so be carefull with that and always check the final result you get after using AI.

I am posting AI content on a niche that I am well familiar with and let me tell you, AI is only 70% accurate.

Your blog is gradually losing credibility, you might even be sued if it causes harm to any reader.
