The PROOF that Adsense can be CHEATED

So, basically, when it comes to cheat on Adsense (like clicking on your own ads)…

99% of people, including in this forum, says vehemently that this is impossible….

That you can’t be smarter than Google, and that this will just lead to your account being banned.

That being said, when you look at click fraud statistics:

More than $61 billion dollars were lost to click fraud only in 2022.

As the majority of internet advertising is delivered by Google, this means billions of dollars lost to operations cheating Google algorithms.

This basically proves that Google’s systems are not foolproof, as everyone on the internet like to repeat.

Jokes aside, I think in this case the click fraud being referred to is competitors clicking on each other's ads in retaliation, not people earning from self clicking ads. Either way, that is a lot of money!

The goal of fraudsters doesn't really make a difference, as it's click fraud anyways, and if Google's AI were perfect, the advertisers and Google itself wouldn't be losing money to invalid clicks.

When people want to screw you over bad enough they will just hire microworkers to click ads for them, which to Google seems legit as there is nothing suspicious about random real users from a targeted geo.

How could they detect real clicks from real users?

This would be very different from someone creating their own bot or paying others to click ads on their Adsense site.

The reason this doesn't work is because if none of your clicks result in a sale or other action, the advertisers know there is something not right. So, even if you "fool the algorithm" you will almost never get paid bc they expect a certain level of actual conversions.

They are exactly the same thing, and none of them will buy anything from the ads.

My main point is: if $61 billion are lost in a year to click fraud, it's because this money was actually paid to publishers, and there are inumerous operations cheating Google's AI.

Obviously it can be cheated...you just need to pay some guys to convert offers.

I mean, for example, if you just throw a bunch of clicks on your own ads with 0% conversion it won't work...but if you pay some guys to convert an offer (really buy a product for the advertiser, for example), then, it's a good start.

So, for example...you need to buy 1000 clicks on your ads + 100.000 traffic visitors + 50 conversions (buy a product/email send/sms submit/etc)

Same applies for CPA fraud.

Nothing. They are essentially the same thing.

Anyways, of course there is fraud, it's called paying strangers to click on your competitor's ads, costing them a spike in ad budget. There's no way to "detect" what users real intentions are. They don't have agents visiting houses shoving their badges in people's faces, demanding that each occupant with internet access is clicking on ads with proper intentions....
