Alternatives to Modems for Creating a Mobile Proxy

Hey fellow;

I've been diving into the world of mobile proxies recently, and I've set my sights on creating my own mobile proxies. While doing my research, I came across the traditional approach of using multiple modems and USB hubs to build a large pool of SIM cards. However, I'm wondering if there are any pro alternative solutions, especially ones that could streamline the process and potentially save space and resources. I am looking to host my installation in a datacenter.

Has anyone explored alternatives to the modem and USB hub setup for creating a sizeable mobile proxy pool? Like 1U chassis with xxx sims directly plug to a server running a script for managing user and proxies rotation? Or so far the market offering only home made solution with some Huawei 3372h ?

The idea of having a more compact and efficient setup that can accommodate a significant number of SIM cards sounds intriguing. If anyone has successfully implemented such an alternative or has insights into the feasibility and potential benefits, I would greatly appreciate hearing your thoughts.

16x sim slots, the device can be found by the "mtr716" keyword. It's built on top of 16x Quectel ec25 chips plus web dashboard. Web API is poorly described in bad Chinese-english.

Oh perfect.

Also, I was thinking to add pci usb card directly to one of my server for test. I am sure results will be the same as using a hub.

As the ref mtr716 costing 2K, using a server directly as an alternative with some Huawei 3372h plug to the pci can be a valuable alternative.

I guess this is the best solution. You just need these hardware:

1) Proxy Server:
Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (4GB)
Raspberry Pi power adapter
Ethernet cable
Raspberry Pi cooling fan
32GB SD card (or larger)

2) USB Hub:
Orico IH10P or IH20P USB Hub

3) Wi-Fi Dongles:
Unlocked and modified Huawei E3372h or E8372h dongles with Hilink

Then you just need a software or script to Manage and Rotate the proxies.

how do you get sims in NA without ID?
