Some of the big creators are getting huge payouts from Twitter. But can it be sustained with time?

What are they creating? Is it all crypto art?
They have engagement with audience. In different niche, they are creating different types of content.

It says: "X is monetizing the ads served in the replies to creators’ posts to determine payouts, not the ads served in the main X timeline."

So if I join and tweet something, and people reply, ads will be shown above/below the replies?

Unless twitter manages to get more advertisers on their platform, payouts are going to go down no matter what.

At this point in time, twitter is losing more advertisers than gaining them as we speak. This is particularly because of Elon Musk's antics.

Only time can tell if this will continue. If Musk's words can be believed of adding a payment platform to Twitter, maybe we will see an uptick in advertisers and hence ad revenue and higher payouts..

I believe there will be some changes. Because there are so many duplicated contents especially dogs, cats, accidents videos from different platforms that people sharing over and over.

I don't see any adverts when I click on tweets - anywhere.

As above, I don't see any adverts, so there can't be many advertisers. I've been looking for 20 minutes and nothing.

Depends on your country

Most advertisers pay for top countries [tier 1 countries]

It's already declining. The likes of Laura Loomer, lporiginal and Jackson Hinkle are crying about it. Go check them out

Do you want to view ads or you want to unlock Twitter Monetization

I've just signed up for it as it showed me as qualifying - connected Stripe etc.

I only wanted to view ads to see if there are any - not much chance of earning much if they don't display.

There's also no apparent way of viewing a report, such as ad views, earnings etc.

Are you confused?

For you to earn...
You have to tweet
Advertiser in your niche ads are shown below you tweet
When people want to reply to your tweet

They see the ads and you can earn

I wonder if people are going to resort to botting on twitter just like spotify.

Not confused at all. I tweet lots per day.

I've checked those tweets - they get lots of replies.

Now, many users are motivated to earn from revenue sharing because so many users have shared their earnings. But they will be disappointed as it can take years to grow the account to that level.

And if they are anything like Google, they will gradually lower the amount paid.

Whatever it is now, will be lower as more people join.
