From Freelancing To Full-Time Job | Need Advice

Hello everyone,

So, I've been freelancing since the last year of University (2010). It's been 13 years.
I started as a proofreader, before becoming a web content writer and doing SEO.
Since then, I did a lot of research on web marketing and I even started working on that field from 2013 to 2018.
After that, I had a little writing agency and I did a failed attempt into owning a call center.
But clients have been scarce lately and I started searching for an office job last year, which lead to this post.
I applied for a Digital Marketing Executive position for a notorious bank in our country in April this year.
I've been into three job interviews for that and today, someone from the bank called to say I was accepted.
I know this will be a huge change in my life, because even if the pay is somewhat similar from what I used to receive during down-time, it will be a huge transition from freelancing to full-time job.

So I need the advice of people who have been in such position.

PS: Keep in mind that I'm from a little island in the middle of nowhere and not from a first-world country.

This could go only 2 ways. You'll adjust to the new working environment in a month and then usual corporate life or you'd lose your mind in a couple of months and be like 'fuck this shit, I'm outta here'.

Good luck, though. Nothing wrong in joining the 9-5 grind. Man's gotta eat.

Hi.

You can always get back to freelancing if you don't like the job or things didn't work out for you. If I were you I'd go for it, a stable pay cheque isn't that bad, and the notice period is only one "can be non productive" month. Go for it man, and best of luck to you.

My advice in a few sentences?
In corporate life, keep your eyes and ears open and mouth shut.
Listen to what they say, look at what they are doing and learn.
Only open the mouth to ask direction of your role.

You will likely become increasingly annoyed with what you see and learn and question why they do things the way they do.
Never tell them they are wrong. (This is a leading reason for having to find another job )

At best ask if they had looked at something from another direction such as...[insert idea here]
Don't annoy the old farts you find there already, just tread around therm quietly and when you have a suggestion or idea start off by saying 'Looking at this issue with my fresh outside eyes, have you ever....?"
Think long and hard before making suggestions or stating that something they do can be done better by doing it another way.
Sometimes there are specific reasons why things are done the way they are - usually from lessons hard or expensively learnt.
