Sandbox? Filter? Penalty? What is this... ?

Hi everyone,
A month ago, I wanted to try programmatic SEO and I've launched a national directory with +2000 words for each page (full spun content+AI). The website has 25000 pages now. It's an EMD.
I notice that almost 10% of my pages are indexed, but all impressions have dropped instantly few days after lauching the site. I cannot find even a very small local keyword, it's like the website is stillborn . I must point out that the site has no links yet. The latest activity recorded by archive.org was in 2014 (old blog treating the same topic as me now), but nothing between 2014 to 2023.

What kind of filter/penalty could it be?

What do you recommand in this case:
1) 301 redirect to a new domain
2) Shut down the website and publish the content on another domain (without 301)
3) Add authority links
4) Remove the spun content?
5) Just waiting
6) Something else?

I have no accurate explanation for your situation, but reading your post reminded me of 2 things that I've heard on the forum this year which might, or might not be true. But I've heard them from someone I trust (I don't remember who it is, though), so probably that at least 1 of these is real...

1) google erases the history of expired domains if they're unused for more than 1 year, so the fact that your expired domain had been unused for 7 years COULD mean that google treats this domain as completely new even if it had previously been ultra high authoritative and ranking well...

2) google gives a 2-year penalty for new domains that don't provide STELLAR content right off the bat. Meaning, your site that's full of spun + AI (probably unedited) content is already flagged by google so it won't rank shit for 2 years no matter what you do with it. For every new site / domain is just better to start with quality content until it starts ranking and then you can spam it with millions of AI articles if you want, but - just like in love - the first impression with google matters apparently....

Again, I can't prove whether any of these 2 statements is true or not, it's just what I've heard lately that got me thinking, so I wanted to throw these in here to get the conversation going... And hopefully someone can give you the right advice, too...

These are interesting considerations but no matter what it's just strange publishing over 25k pages on a new site in just a month. Expired domain or not. The effects could even be worse when you consider most of those pages are AI generated and could contain clearly AI content.

I would think the number of posts in such a short time is likely part of the reason.

Even my brand name is not showing on GG...
But the site:domain returns +2000 results
To my mind, it looks like a huge sandbox effect, but not sure about this. That's why I don't know what kind of action I've to put in place now...

I did not had great success on expired domain - stable but very low traffic.
Maybe that domain was flagged by Google, etc. Need more testing on more domains.

However, on fresh domain I had very great success - big boost at beginning and later impressions dropped to zero.

I had a new domain I dropped 1m words on in like 300 posts impressions went to zero real fast. It's just spammy. Need to setup drip schedule.

I've encountered a similar issue, i think that publishing content too fast is a red flag nowadays, due to AI, especially for fresh domains.

I think rapid posting only works on active site that is already in the serp's for more than 1-2 year. idk.

Also i don't use AI for this domain. it's a fresh domain.

I already bought some backlinks let's see if this is only a sanbox. (7 months old now)

Good thing is on BING it does ranks a lot of keywords even winning some snippets

after redirecting the old domain to the new one, it seems that the filter has been transmitted just few days after. No more impressions now, brutal drop:



I've removed the redirect, I will add new spun content to the old one, create few quality links on both and wait to see what happens to them. It could be just a sandbox effect.
