Siteground driving me nuts

Has anyone experience installing themes on this host before? Its like whatever I try to install theme it just has constant errors, any workaround?

I don't have any experience with Siteground, but if a hosting server isn't capable of you installing a theme, it isn't worth wasting your time with them.
Although it's not the cheapest alternative, I would highly recommend cloudways.

normally i heard Siteground service is good but did not use it personally . but in my opinion if Siteground not serve your purpose then you should change it

I ditched site ground 2 years back. The problem for you i think is because they dont have cpanel. Most of the issues they had back then was because they dont use cpanel, so custom panel bs they use.

yaa thats the issue they dont provide cpanel in there regular package . to use cpanel they charge extra

What kind of theme are you trying to install?

This issue is probably related to a very big theme and a PHP upload limit. Please let me know and I am happy to help you out (for free ofc).

GeneratePress, it fails to import content for the premium theme. I already went with another theme though

move to a vps and learn linux. it's so much fun and you never have to call your host to reboot your server ever again. i use https://www.interserver.net/dock/vps-916231.html they ahve a BHW2023 coupon for first month essentially free. otherwise its like $6/mo for a VPS and their shared hosting plans are all unlimited for similar price.

I think it has something to do with the PHP memory limit set forth by your host. Increase it manually from htaccess or ask Siteground to increase it for you.

Is your WordPress updated?

I used Siteground in the past, there are better services in the market.

I will check for any plugins that i have as some of them can mess up with themes, especially cache plugins, just a hunch

Siteground is a managed host; hence they have no cPanel. However, your issue is most related to some missing or bad config from your side. I recommend installing WP Query and checking the debug logs, they will clearly tell you what;s wrong.
