Website without Wordpress or similar tool - will articles be properly read by google?

So, basically i had my website customer created, it doesn't feature wordpress, nor anything similar. Therefore, the articles will be uploaded as additional .html pages in the website's folder.

Will this affect SEO? Will google & friends be able to tell that the new page is an article?


Should I be uploading the articles another way?

All web content 'emulates' HTML, you might want to use a URL rewriting scheme to have nicer looking URLs, but SEO wise it's all the same. If anything a static / HTML site is generally easier for Google.

The urls are cute and describe the title of the article.

So, in conclusion - this won't make me less ranked compared to websites that post articles with Wordpress and similar tools?

If anything I'd expect mild benefits. Static html is very fast. We're all used to clunky CMS.

if you don't fuck up your site's speed and technical SEO yes, it won't make you rank less. It's the site's health and SEO that matters, not the software you use to make the website...

The performance on mobile is ranked in orange because the images are too big and not in webp, And the accessibility is low due to the absence of alt texts - but I am in no race to get ranked on google for the forseable future, just wondered about the articles thing

Will probably leave it as it for now, and revisit when i've dealt with more pressing issues

This is good; one of my sites got deindexed about 2-3 days ago because of jetpack fucking our websites speed up. I didn't notice went from 80 > 20 and we got smacked by the big G.

Lmao this sucks.

To be frank I would've never pulled the initiative to create a website without wordpress. It came up this way due to miscommunication with the web developer (the miscommunication was my fault lol). Turns out this is my luckiest mistake.
