Which is the best domain name?

Which of the following would be the best domain for a uk based flower company specialising in flowers for weddings?

(The following domain names are not the actual domains I am looking at just examples!)

flowersweddings.com
flowers-weddings.co.uk

What are your thoughts?

I would choose the .com and it also has no hyphens which is even better.

Always go with a .com even if you have to add a hyphen. I have a hyphenated domain (****-****.com) that is ahead of ********.com. I really don't believe the hyphen is enough to make a difference in your ranking.

From my experience I can say that the hyphen won't make any difference, and also I will go with the .com domain.

Don't forget that backlinks and good unique content will make the difference between you and your competitors.

I'd suggest grabbing both the .com and the .co.uk, forward and mask one to the other. Then over time you could do some A-B testing if you wanted. My main thought is if you're looking at a UK-based business and/or doing a lot of geo-targetted marketing, sometimes a ccTLD is actually better than a .com for organic results.

Sure you could do a simple 301 redirect. Or you could go into whereever the names are managed and they should have options to forward w/ or w/o masking in there.

See if you can get a non-plural version for wedding.
I've just checked Global Monthly search volume figures from Google External - you can see all of them below for a match type "broad":

flowers weddings - 49,500
flowers wedding - 1,000,000
flower weddings - 33,100
flower wedding - 450,000

As you can see, anything to do with wedding would get a bigger search volume than a similar phrase for weddings.

Good idea on getting them both, since its targetting UK customers personally I would have gone for the .co.uk and in my experience hyphens have absolutely no negative impact on your SEO.
