I'm not having much luck with it. i'm selecting the site quite carefully and most of them are getting indexed as well through tier-2 indexing, but i'm not seeing much of an improvement in the rankings. one major reason may be because the no. of sites is not huge. at any point i have anywhere around 10-15 active websites for building links. thats a small number i've come to realize.

Thanks for sharing your exp. Personally, I noticed an improvement for my few sites just by back-linking from some high DA sites, provided by some of the generous users here, eg: Rachmaninoff. It helped immensely when bulkaddurl indexing was working then. The only web 2.0 I attempted was medium, though I only posted 1 article for each site, and didn't post further. All articles were written personally, no budget to engage help/ Perhaps the recent Google algorithm update affected your rankings?

You mean your strategy now is to post on any web 2.0 with high DA that you can find? I am intending to explore tier 1 and tier 2 for web 2.0, but kidda undecided on which one to start on. I doubt I can continue writing on too many platforms, so was hoping your exp so far can help recommend 1-2 web 2.0 that I can emphasize on.
