IMG Tag traffic - whats it good for?

how much traffic do you get? It could be quite good for youtube views , if you have enough traffic

I like the youtube idea, just keep in mind the whole page will load so if your video is 2+ mins every user will notice something weird going on (but then again, does it really matter?).

Good idea would be to redirect the traffic to a site which has a traffic control script on it, so you could load in 2-3 videos a day and make sure every video only gets 30-50k views (enough for most viewed for the day).

And while we are at it: you could fake meta'c4fe views and earn 5$ per mill. mmmmmh

it will count if your page is looded.

I just created a page and a series of fresh videos to test this theory and it does not appear to work with FireFox or IE7. If anyone has any proof to the contrary, I'm all ears. We tried both a basic .htaccess redirect and a blind meta-refresh. The blind meta-refresh seemed to load some information from YouTube, but the view count never increased.

Any thoughts?

you could open video on zero iframe and it should work

This is 100% true. Whichever method you use to call a page from an image only the headers will be processed.

AFAIK loading a page via image will only allow the headers to pass, which is why cookie stuffing works. It wont load the whole page. In order for something like this to work, it would have to load the page in an iframe.
