I love organizing things in one giant Excel file.
Different pages for different projects.
It is much better than a word document because I get a really big view and can draw diagrams etc.

Could you share more how you plan to use it? give me a headstart on what I should aim for or look for

I also use Excel. I actually use it for anything, including organizing my routine and remembering to study or drink water.

I've been using Obsidian to track my weight, diet and daily productivity. I'm also managing a company while having a job and I organize tasks there as well. Sure I could write a script to do everything that I'm doing on Obsidian but the fact that they have a ton of plugins and everything runs offline makes it a pretty good management tool.
Contacts from meetings, linking meeting subjects to other notes, it's pretty strong and free so there's no real downside to it. It took me until now to find out how to really use it. Ah, also using VIM to navigate on it makes it incredibly fast.
Now I'm starting to write my own scripts based on daily notes so we'll see where that goes, maybe I'll make something available as a plugin later on. But if you're a coder or an entrepreneur this is the best tool I found so far.
If you need some resources I can share the ones I found the most useful, there are a lot of people that go on and on about how they organize their ideas for content creation which I have no interest in, but some that just go straight into the juicy stuff like scripting and productivity (at least for me that's what's interesting about it).
All of it because I was going to make a todo app that was useful, and then I find this gem and they are already light years ahead of me.
If anyone has any tips I'd love learn more about it since I'm still a noob at it.

It does have calendar-ish functions, the kind you can add the parameters yourself and customize it to your own liking. It's basically an easier way to customize a pre baked script, calendars tracking daily tasks is one of the things I use it for. You can also add sheet function and use some other notes on it as Excel or Google Sheets. And since you can connect your notes like links and visualize what's inside of it just by holding control, it becomes everything in one place. They also automatically create a node map with the connections between notes (notes with calendars or sheets also). I'm now starting to convert my sheets into obsidian as well, and everything is offline which comes in handy some times.

I tried notion, but the organization is too complicated. Their calendar feature is really bad IMO, and they have nothing similar to excel with conditional formatting... etc... things I have gotten used to
