As the title stated, how it can be done?
The problem is, I am not able to access the root directory where I am supposed to add so called ads.txt file.

Has anyone done this before? If yes can you please explain me how to do it.

Why can`t you access the root directory? What hosting are you using?

I am using GoDaddy website builder, everything is hosted on them.
FYI: Not a techie in the field. Doing it on my own.

I haven't used Godaddy website builder in particular, but any hosting provider offers you some kind of access to the root files. Find out what that access looks like. Contact live chat and ask them how you can upload a txt file to the root of your installation. They should be able to guide you. I used godaddy hosting a long time ago, and I remember having full cpanel access. Cpanel file transfer is really easy, but you first have to figure out whether you have cpanel access or not. Even if you don't, a ssh or FTP access should be provided at the very least.

I think this will help you

first, you need to go root directory of your site { public_html } then you have to create a file whos name is ads.txt
then you have to paste the code in this file.
its done.

I am trying hard on that end but GoDaddy doesn't allow me to access the root directory. Someone gave me help link but it seems that is only for USA peeps. I am lost. I think I should switch to WordPress may be...
