I'm about to launch a Tech related niche site in French, and would like to know which social media platform performs better for that French speaking people.

Last year I did create automated links on one of my sites (in English), which was 6 months old and rankings skyrocketed for a couple of weeks only to vanish right after and the whole keywords disappeared in Google for ever.
So, I'd advise to be very careful with such practice, but others might have observed different behaviour with getting those automated links.
