So I just moved to a whole new domain that never existed before. I followed all the processes;

1. Moved files
2. Replaced url with new domain
3. Enabled 301 redirect
4. Added new domain to search console and submitted site map
5. Used "Change of address" to inform Google of the change.

The new domain has been indexed and many pages showing.

I also noticed I still rank no 1 for all my keywords but the old domain is now replaced with the new domain.

I just what to know what you all think. Will there be a return back to normal?? Will my traffic come back???

Thanks for your response.

How many days have passed since you did that?

I made the switch on 12th July, that's exactly 7 days after. Traffic skyrocketed a day after the move then started going down since then.

I mean, why did you have to do that? There's always a risk of everything going to shit when you switch domains. Hell, I shit my pants changing themes on a ranking site. Hopefully, your rankings come back, but it's a gamble tbh.

It takes time.

Update it on GSC as well.

It should be fully recovered in around 8 to 14 weeks.
Yeah I have updated on search console. I just hope 8 weeks or 14 weeks it is and not perpetual wait.

It was a difficult call but I just had to make that switch. Moreover, I found a pretty short brandable domain
