If you send like 1 or 2 in an article, it might be ok, even 3 or 4, depending on the size of the article. In fact, you could technically be using footnotes to cite for example a couple of research papers pages like Researchgate or Springer, and it will 100% fine

But if you send links arbitrariy and a big amount, it may harm as spammy. Just moderate yourself, it's not a bad practice, but like drugs, in excess, they may backfire.
