Hi.This is my first post and I want it to be somewhat useful.

Yesterday the news reported that 29% of all world cup soccer/football tickets will be sold to local people (South African citizens).Something like over 600 000 tickets. Now the thing is most local people cant really afford to attend the games so sales for tickets will probably not go as well.

Which leaves a huge gap to buy up plenty of tickets. You then sell the tickets for a handsome profit to foreign people who were not able to buy (the over inflated) tickets.

You will need a South African person to buy the tickets,as you would need to present your ID when you buy the tickets.

I am in a position to buy the tickets,if anyone might want to use this idea.Otherwise I will try to look for some loopholes or someone you could bribe (This is Africa) if you would like to buy the tickets yourself.

This is just a basic idea that just popped into my head.

Sounds like a plan! Reckon I could shift loads n the UK and I think I know someone who might bankroll it too. Happy to jv on this, let's get a plan together.

Sherbert I sure hope you're not trying to invest serious money into this. Lol I mean this just looks like it has scam written all over it! I'm a nigerian prince if you give me a couple stacks, I'll be more than happy to reimburse you 10 fold once I get back to my mighty nigerian empire!:laugh2:

Stick with your money on this endeavor. Just buy local tickets to big events that will sell out so that you don't have to worry about getting ripped off.

sherbert The UK is a good location.Plenty of other European people to market to as well.A jv sounds like it could work. You could send me a PM (dont know if I can receive PM`s yet) then we can make a plan

fl1guy2 im not trying anything devious here.I was just trying to give some people an idea to make money from the world cup.A lot of UK people have friends or family in South Africa that they could ask to buy the tickets for them. The town I live in has quite a big british population.I am not trying to let people use me as the ticket buyer,I just gave it as an option.

jannysoft I live in Hermanus the whale watching capital of the world

good idea macdonjo.I took some action this weekend and skyped some former colleagues I used to work with in the UK.They agreed to sell tickets for me in Portugal,Slovakia,Germany,England.Denmark and Spain. On the plus side I have a friend who rents out holiday houses in my province and he will give me a commission if the visitors stay in any of his houses. So far so good.

Still searching for sellers in Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland?

Contact me ;)

why not, buy the final Ticket from now, and wait :) to sell it in the middle of the competition with a huge profit without risk, because you can sell it to any country in the final

i saw 11 matches in the world cup 2006 for free, including transportation staying at ***** resorts. how? i just bought 4 tickets per match and sold two for a multiple of the money.

example: semi-final, bought 4 tickets for 600$ each (OFFICIAL price, they are crazy!), sold two of them for 3400$. left me two tickets and 1000$ to spend while on my way.

the problem with the SA world cup has never been getting tickets its getting the flights out there, there shockingly expensive and limited numbers of them.

now personally if it was me id overland it in a defender from england to cape town (theres actually a race/rally near the time of the world cup doing this)

as for citizenship, it can be brought for i think its about $700 so you can get tickets and bankaccounts (and south african bank accounts are VERY USEFUL if your really black hat :))

the main thing which are putting people off are the flights though as i said! the reason there sellin so many tickets to the natives is that they cant sell thme

if your gonna moneytise the world cup, maybe a fake competition with an email submit or cpa offer attached to it!

That is a very good point, flights to SA is quite expensive. But there is one airline that sell airline tickets on the cheap (air berlin).

The fake competition is also a good idea for CPA offers.

Buying citizenship is not as easy as people think it is.The home affairs people are not very fond of foreign nationals. It will cost you about $700 like you said but spread it over a time of about a year/year and a half.

1. You have to know a south african to do it.
2. You have to be there in south africa to do it.

Buy the quarter-final matches because all the fans will be grabbing it up no matter the price if their country qualifies.

First National Bank sells the tickets, you have to walk in and apply or online with FIFA

"Each applicant can apply for up to four tickets per match and up to seven matches in total. Ticket prices start at USD 20 (ZAR 140). For further information, customers can send an e-mail to [email protected] or fax +41 43222 6800."

look how much these guy's are reselling for:

Man I like the ideas here.
I have done this with college football tickets. More profit potential here though....

Anybody know about selling these on ebay or somewhere else online?

Sell tasers and chemical mace, Durban is said to be quite a dangerous place for tourists ;)

There is a flaw in your plan. It's called ticket registration the tickets are going to be registered under the name of the id or passport holder. It's to stop the touts. Also chances of finding tickets for the bigger games that the foreigners want will be next to none. In theory it could work in practice only the larger travel companies will pull this off.

The best and only real way to make money from the 2010 World Cup is to promote sites that allow internet users to watch the games live. With tons of sites that already broadcast for free, all you have to do is find 2-3 working "online tv" channels that show the game, put them on a membership site that you own, and charge like $5-10 one time fee.You can also promote programs such as cb, (platinumpartner has a few high converting sites of this type). When that hockey final Russia vs Canada happened, many have banked thousands per day... ;) that's nothing comparing with a World Cup.
