How much is too much? automated content upload

Spent a couple of days working on automating my content creation, before I go crazy uploading a stupid number of articles can anyone advise how I should approach uploading content? Do I need to warm the site up and maintain a consistent post rate or can I just slap them out as fast as I can produce them?

There are members here uploading 1000 articles per day with automation so there is no limit.
