Does using the Google Tag Manager code slow down the loading speed of the site?

If we use the Google Tag Manager code in the site header. Does this slow down the site's loading speed?

It wont really slow it down by a lot but its just another unnecessary call that your code will make to a 3rd party.

Add it just above </body> Tag for better effect.
