Hi,

so to make it short and simple I have a blog and 80-100K unique monthly page views at the moment.
It's about health, medicine, surgery, etc. It is a serious site, with very accurate and updated information, things that your specialist won't answer as correctly or as thoroughly, and as such I did not wanted to sell backlinks to shit sites with bad content, refer to merchants that sell BS, or not even have ADS that disrupt the user experience..

I was hoping in the beginning to be able to land some collaborations with big brands like pharmaceutical companies and such, but never succeded. Now I'm in need of money and not for hookers and cocaine, but to survive, so I'm gonna set my standards aside and start with some advertising network, still I'm gonna die first before referring to bad websites and products.

I'm totally new to this and I was wondering if depending on the niche one network may be better than the other? Or depending on the pageviews? Or what? How much could I make (eg: worst case scenario: 10 USD, best case: 25 USD)?

Thanks for the kind advice

an exact figure... or even a ballpark figure is hard to give because it depends on a lot of things (the tier of your traffic, their engagement with your site, their trust in your content / site / business, the monetization you use, CPC in case you're doing Adsense / Infolinks, etc).

However, 80k UVs per month should earn you at least $2000 per month in Adsense revenue if we assume a (very conservative) $0.50 per click income, at a 5% CTR ratio, both of which can easily be achieved in the health & medical industry (one of the most profitable industries that I've seen when I used to do Adsense 8-9 years ago).

And this is Adsense revenue only, if you have more monetization options (selling your own product, for example) or mutually beneficial partnerships set up by your brand / company your profits would be way higher.... But it depends on a lot of things, like I said...

Unfortunately, I'm not up-to-date with the latest and greatest in advertising, but I know from a lot of guys of this forum that networks like Ezoic, Mediavine or Adthrive are pretty good if you have the traffic (most good networks nowadays want sites with good traffic, and your site seems to meet the requirements), so you'll probably get accepted very easily into all of these networks... And I also recommend that you check Infolinks out, too, they're another network that I had success with about 10 years ago (although lately they've changed ownership and they've even overhauled their site, so things might be different... but they're worth checking out at least...)

Something else that I can think of (but which would require you to sell your own physical products) would be to join a network like cj.com (Commission Junction) and have people promote your products in exchange for a small commission that you set (so, doing affiliate marketing that is.) I'm not sure how well this model fits your business, but it's something that crossed my mind so I thought of mentioning it :)

I can't think of anything else, though so I'll let others chime in with their suggestions...

Thank you for the very informative reply. Selling my own products was in the original plan when I started, but never raised the money to do it, so I'll keep it as a future possibility.
With the AD network I thought at best I would get far less then what you suggested (like 500 USD), which makes this change more interesting and less painful for me.

It's mostly traffic from tier 1 countries (top 3 is USA, IT, JP) who spend between 1 and 2 minutes reading, I'm not sure if they would click through banners nor how many use an AD blocker nowadays..

Anyway thanks again, much appreciated.

With lier 1 countries you should be able to make around 150$ with 100k traffic with adsense after optimizing your placements and site. You should get average number of click too not just views.
That being said it does depend on you niche.
Thinking out of the box here, may be your traffic are having health issues and and searching and then bouncing with average number of clicks for 100k traffic?
So check how many clicks are you getting.

The success and earnings potential of a network depend on various factors such as the niche, target audience, pageviews, ad placement, and monetization strategies. It's difficult to provide specific earnings estimates as they can vary significantly.

Haven't started placing advertisements, I was asking to understand the earning potential, but I'm understanding that it's just so variable and not easy to calculate so people can't give me a ballpark figure.

I tried applying to mediavine earlier today, although I'm not sure they will accept me nor if they are the best choice for me.
This is because of the fact that my website is visited by most countries of the world and in different languages as well (I write in english first, then translate. All articles are in english, and some are available in 1-9 more languages).
So I'm not sure the share of people coming from USA, CAN, AUS, NZ, UK is enough to qualify.

This are currently (past 7 days) my top 10 countries by traffic:

Italy 16.7%
Japan 11.3%
United States 9.8%
Spain 6.0%
Mexico 5.8%
Brazil 5.8%
Russia 5.7%
Thailand 2.6%
Germany 2.2%
France 2.2%

So I wonder if mediavine will only give good CPM for that 10% from the USA, and bad CPM or no ads for the other countries? I sent them an email, hopefully they will reply.
And I wonder if it is best to choose Adsense because of the variety of countries and languages, to increase ADS competition and CPM in non english speaking countries...

Will see after mediavine replies (if ever). But if we are looking at 150 USD per 100K traffic as you suggested with Adsense, that sucks!

Anyway thanks for the contribution..

Look low payment for traffic always sucks. Check other options, affiliate marketing, site flipping. Check ezoic.
Check what your competition are doing to monetize.
Apply for adsense anyway you are loosing money by not monetizing right how.

Those are crazy visits. May be you should start with some real affiliate programs if you are really willing to have some more effort and earn more amount of money. I mean you can also include various ad networks, such as coin traffic, ad choices, and some private advertising networks. Such as micro-tasking sites. I am not sure how far it will go but an affiliate is the best choice in your case for better revenue.
