Let me give you a tip. If you continue to publish other follow-up articles on the same topic after one of your posts has been hit by discovery, you will start getting hits all the time. For example, if your article titled "Watch Spider-Man 2" received hits from the explore section, enter your articles that continue as 3, 4, 5 immediately.

Right so I got a few things set up.

I've got an autoblog running so I decided to make a post on there, with a featured image 1200px. I shared it to 3 subreddits, it's generating I'd say decent upvotes. No comments yet though. I designed a thumbnail in canva, that'd do well on YouTube and it's juicy curiosity based "thumbnail".

Next, I've made a shitty AI video, optimised the description with chatgpt, added a great thumbnail and title. I've seen youtube in my discover feed many times before, so might as well see if it goes on discover Shared it to a sub reddit.

Let's see what happens. Will update when anything interesting happens.

Are the video and the article on the same subject?
I wonder if a video embedded in an article that is featured in Discover gets featured too. Or the other way around, if a video is featured on Discover can help a link in the description get featured.

They are on the same subject but both have a unique thumbnail and curiosity based titles.

For the video, a chatgpt based description.
For the article, I used gpt4 [https://chat.forefront.ai/]

That would be an interesting theory to test.

A slight update, auto-blog had an issue with AMP. And seeing how discover is only on mobile, I believe it's key and probably [at least] part of the reason why it didn't show up in discover.


I spent about an hour looking into why. It turns out it was Cloudflare's Zaraz service, which I was using for GA4. I deleted it from Cloudflare and it fixed it.

I've made another post on there, AMP is 100% valid this time, according to Google's AMP Tester
1200px Featured Image & a juicy title.


The YouTube video isn't in Discover either, but funny enough it is getting quite a few views. I used an AI video generator to make it and it is pure garbage of a video... Thumbnail and title was top-notch mega curiosity based though.

Will upload another one shortly

I used https://www.deepbrain.io/ . Using chatgpt for the script.

That's a good question. If I were you, I'd post it in the largest Korean subreddit in your niche, but I don't know how it works with non English sites. In my Discover feed I don't see any non English content even though I live in a country in which is not spoken.

Yes, that's right
My Discover feed only shows articles in Korean.

In the case of Koreans, the use of reddit is relatively small.
So there are very few subreddits in Korean.

Currently, I am looking for a Korean community site that can have a similar effect to Reddit.

I was also about to ask you about that. I have read somewhere that Web Stories is a good way to get into discover. I will try to find the source. Google has been trying to promote Web Stories and AMP.

Do you see 'Google Web Story' in your Discover feed?
I think 'Google Web Story' is only supported in certain countries.

If 'Google Web Story' is exposed in the Discover feed, this can also be a good approach.

I try to treat the content I'm optimizing for Discover like a YouTube video more than like an SEO optimized article. More often than not, I don't even have a keyword in mind.
I try to come up with things like these, just relevant to my niche:

If Frudo knew any of these 4 things, he'd never take the ring from Bilbo

7 Amazing senses wild animals have that would've saved us the need for plastic bottles
