Let's define limits for rule 3.5 about posts

hey guys, i know i may be beating a dead horse here, but I am posting this as I don't want to break rules again.

I would like to define the limits of rule 3.5, because right now it stands as:

3.5 Engaging in post count inflation by posting excessive amounts of short replies for the sole purpose of inflating your post count. This includes the infamous “thanks for the share.” (If you’d like to say “thanks” to someone for their effort/contribution, make use of the Like button).

=> excessive amounts of short replies.
- What is a short reply in terms of characters/words?
- What is considered a good reply and what is considered a spammy reply?
- What is considered "excessive amounts" in terms of posts per hour/day? Because my replies weren't close to "thanks for the share" and actually replied to the threads with a solution or tried to help the OPs.

I make these questions as right now is like the cops saying "you are going too fast" but don't tell you the limits and you have to guess the right speed.
Or it's like the IRS, you need to pay us but we won't tell you how much you need to pay.


Also, I would like to know the limits of posts per hour/day in sections where we as paid members are allowed to sell/promote our services such as the Hire A Freelancer and Want To Buy sections.


I make this post to clarify the rules so I can engage with the community in a safe manner and stay within the rules.

I bet these limits are not defined for a reason. Mods need some flexibility to make forum better.

I would like to define the limits of rule 3.5, because right now it stands as:

Spam is a large number of comments/posts in a short period of time for the purposes of increasing your post count or appearance on the forum.

If it looks as though you’re “spamming” comments on threads, you will be warned. The distinction between spam and not spam are readily apparent.

If you’re sending 20 replies in 22 minutes & 140 replies in 6 hours, that’s spam.

Excessive short replies. You were spamming 4-8 word responses once or twice per minute. That is a spot on representation of spam on the forum that we don’t want to see.

Your responses need to be natural and if you have information to give a thread creator or member, you’re more than welcome to comment and share the information.

We don’t disclose that information for situations such as these. We have rules on the forum, please follow them.
