PAA sites - Make or break?

So I usually just browse here but never really had time to attempt methods. However I am very interested in learning about PAA sites. I might have missed the hype of these sites but would love to try but don’t know where to start. Maybe I can put my own twist?
What I mean is where do we get the questions from, how many Q’s per topic. All on one domain? Do I need to use Wordpress or can I develop my own site script so it’s much more lightweight? (I am a dev as my career)
I’ve tried looking around here but seems like it goes in one’s brain and doesn’t stick.

Thankyou for your wisdom. However I’m not even sure where to start off… this is what I’m trying to learn and understand. How does one get several hindered thousand pages based off questions? Are they all related or are all topics you can think of on one domain etc?

well, think of ways on how to get started, see how that works out
then test other variations

Yes it can work, as long as you can add quality content and value to the site.
I'm currently building a new site based on PAA questions.

As I've said numerous times on here, I only work in niches that I'm well versed in. The reason for this is that it comes across the to the reader than I know what I'm talking about and that leads to conversions and also better rankings.

Unfortunately, there's no 100% success formula in SEO - you'll have to test on your own and see how it goes.

I think I understand the concept but I think I’m losing the understanding of the question to the article. For example if I have a question of “how do diabetics check their sugar level” do I make lots of articles about that one specific question or one article per question? Or am I totally wrong?

I probably make people think I’m dumb asking these.

I do now. I dropped the first site after loosing interest in it, but for my latest site I'm incorporating PAA into it.

Yes, I test dozens of websites, all of them ranking first but down later. You do great, you should have right tactic.

Thanks. From the testing I've done, I'd say that for a long term site the content needs to be expanded beyond just the PAA questions. For churn and burn and parasites, straight PAA would still work
