Hi there,

when I am checking GSC for Indexed Sites (this one particular) it tells me around 600 Sites are Indexed.
When looking via Google Site:domain.com I get around 4500 Indexed Pages.
Can someone please explain me why there is such a big difference.
Or did Miss sth. importend and just being stupid?
Thanks in advance!

The ones in GSC are most likely the ones that have impressions or clicks. The ones you see when using Site:... is every page that is indexed. This is just my guess though and it could be way off.

site:domain is what goes.

GSC is greatly delayed, it might just need to catch up.

So once I compare the same days IT should be kind of similar?
Will check this, thanks a lot

Somewhat similar. GSC updates frequently enough but the number of indexed pages you see on GSC should be the most accurate. It's mostly a representation of an audit of your sitemap.

It IS possible that an article/page is indexed that is not showing yet on GSC. You will almost always see a different number between those two.

By google operations, you'll see each and every URL from your website however its image URL or the other ones, whether they're indexed or not. But in GSC you'll see the most important pages that ranking on different positions on SERPs and getting some clicks and people are searching for those pages. Lets suppose your HOME page is appearing with google operations SERPs now it doesn't mean the people are searching for your HOME page
Its my practical observation
