I've recently had a look at the Rocket Languages Clickbank products and to my surprise I found that when ordering one of the cheaper products, my affiliate user id would show at the bottom of the clickbank sale page but when ordering one of their more expensive products (e.g. Spanish 20-CD Pack), a completely different affiliate user id shows up "[affiliate = fszorcsik.lcr00rsp]". Like wtf is this bullshit? Is it just me? Or are Rocket Languages messing about with their affiliates?

looks like they have multiple clickbank products all listed under 1 site

so instead of ordering a more expensive version of a single product, you're navigating to another product entirely, and since it wasn't through your hoplink, you don't get credit for it.

not sure what clickbank's policy is on such things... you may just want to send them an email and ask about it

No, that's not it. This is how an example hop link looks like:
Code:
http://www.rocketlanguages.com/spanish/premium/spanish.php?hop=*examplehop*
On this hop link there are two products, one cheaper one and one more expensive one, either way it's on the same page that the hop link points to, so tell me now, is it me or are RocketLanguages stealing from their affiliates?

The way it normally works would be that you also get credited for the more expensive version because of the cookie settings. I think they are cheating.

Could someone explain "cookie settings" issues affiliates seem to be having with CB. How can I protect my commissions as an affiliate vis a vis "cookie settiings"????

Hi there
As the CEO of Rocket Languages I would like to respond to this, as it seems their is some misinformation about the shipped products commission on our site.

We do pay commissions on both download and shipped products. The only caveat is that the affiliate must use one of our affiliate urls (as obtainable from rocketlanguages.com/affiliates) and not the standard CB one. The reason being that we were beta testing shipped products for CB and had to do it this way to ensure that hops for two CB accounts (one shipped and one download) were loaded when a visitor hit the page.

Recently CB have made it so we can have shipped products and download products in one account, meaning that any CB hoplink will work as well wrt shipped product commissions.

We are in the process of switching to one CB account, however, as we have several hundred product variations its going to take a couple of weeks.

Any questions/comments I would be glad to hear them.
Thanks.

I'm glad this is clarified as I thought of stopping rocket languages. I don't sell a lot but once in a while I do get a sale.

Has rocket languages cleaned up their "cookies" act? It seems like a good product but I dont want to waste my time promoting a product I wont get credit for.

Hi
The affiliate commission on shipped and downloadable products has been working fine for several months with no reports of errors.
Thanks

Just wanted to say thanks. Started promoting Rocket Languages recently and am happy to know everything with them and CB are running smooth.

Scutt
