Ai Hype Disappeared

Are you using chatgpt or chatgpt plus?
Few days back i wrote a master piece blog post in half hour and it hit the position 1 in US, next day.
All i did was, here the golden nugget:

I asked chatgpt plus to write the outline , i added removed some h2, h3 s using my template outline i perfected over months.
Asked chatgpt plus to write the blog post with it.

Do you want me to share the screenshot?

This is just a beginning, (Picture abhi baki hai mere dost) Just Hindi dialogue XD

everyone uses the term incorrectly. Artificial Intelligence isn't an algorithm you created to help you automate things, that's just called automation.
Probably unpopular opinion, but all this LLM hype I still consider under machine learning.

Give it till the end of the year, the hype is fading but slowly and there's still a lot of companies who jumped on the hype train and are planning on launching some half-baked, me too AI feature for the PR. That will continue on throughout next year as well but we're already at the point of diminishing returns with this hype, it'll just take another year for it to really fizzle out.

You'll still have people and companies trying to hype it back up but like shitcoins and NFTs, they'll mostly be yelling into a void, people will be sick of hearing about yet another overpromised, underwhelming AI feature and they'll be used to ChatGPT.

It's like when the first handful of iPhone generations were released and you had idiots camping outside of Apple stores for days to get one on launch day. Then people got used to them and realized the upgrades on new generations were just overhyped, incremental improvements and all the buzz wore off.

I think people will hype up over GPT5 but not as much as GPTChat which released with 3.5 or 4. Each update will bring diminishing returns and only the fanboys and content creators who fake excitement over anything for views will act like new versions are amazing.

Sure send it into pm you can also send the article i can analyze it.
I plan to do similar stuff with spamming articles on other languages and see how it goes

Exactly, they do same hype with image generators, like they will be able to make something like this?

This is just an news image for one of my ig profiles, but giving an example of ai won't be able to make this quality images any time soon in my opinion. Or anything meaningful

Game has just started.. next few years will be very interesting...

I don't think. It's gone. It's that most of the content about AI writers has been discussed. So, no one talking much about it

The hype definitely disappeared for the mainstream user. I am talking about the average Joe, the one who doesn't work in IT or IM. Before I saw random people playing around with ChatGPT, but now they stopped. But AI is very far from finished. Just wait until AI videos and deep fake videos become more accessible and easier to create. The whole internet will be flooded with fake videos in a matter of days.

Generally speaking, I think at this point society just jumps from one hype to another. Crypto, NFT, AI...the real question is: What's the next big thing? It's worth it to keep an eye out on Reddit and what some people like Gary Vee have to say. For example, I know a couple of guys who listened to GaryVee when he first talked about NFTs. I think it was 2-3 years ago. Some of them earned $500k and one guy even made a few million dollars. Why? Because they just jumped on the hype train as early as possible and capitalized on it as much as possible. Now they enjoy life and wait for the next big thing.

The people that was hyping about AI the most was just trying to grab youtube ad revenue and sell some AI course, the real people were busy actually using it to make them some money.

Do you all see how after a few months all the ai hype started disappearing? Like everyone understanding that chatgpt has it's limits and ai all in all faces too many legal problems etc.
Who said the hype is over? It is just starting.

Ai videos won't be much of a thing, deep fakes will surely be controlled by governments and big tech to not cause problems. If you are creating quality videos on youtube you don't have to worry about some ai guy just taking you over.

Real world is not science fiction movie that one technological development changes everything suddenly.

In 1994, a person could question "Internet hype disappeared"

The hype hasn’t disappeared whatsoever. In fact, it’s ramping up.

ChatGPT was just the beginning and itself is evolving. Over the next 2 years or so, you’re going to see massive improvements in not only AI but also technology itself.

All major tech companies now have some form of AI incorporated into them. Snapchat, Google Bard, etc.
time for BHW AI:D

I think even if it can do that, and it will eventually, it's still just incremental improvements and you just won't see people getting excited over, "It can do fingers a little better now!" unless like I said, you're a hardcore fanboy or a clickbait content creator.

I don't know about other countries but in the US, the patent and trademark office already said you can't copywrite ML generated content, so all these people generating posts, images, videos, books, they have no legal claim to them and legally, anyone can just steal them lol.

I guarantee you 99%+ of the people generating this stuff don't even realize that.

True lol, i feel like you are the only one getting my point in this thread xD

I still think it won't be able to make as quality ones as humans can

Yeah. I think GPT was a big incremental advancement for sure but it wasn't a breakthrough and it didn't suddenly come out of nowhere.

I've followed AI research since the late 80s and dabbled with it since the 90s. What you're seeing, software wise, is almost entirely technology developed between the 1960s and 1990s. GPT simply cobbled together existing technologies, the way Apple took existing tech and put it in a more attractive, user-friendly package and blew up the smartphone industry.

That's the thing with technology, things that aren't breakthroughs tech-wise can seem like they are because they're a breakthrough in product-market fit.

That's what you have with ChatGPT. It's a twist on old technology that just happened to get incrementally good enough to be in that sweet spot where the average Joe finds it appealing.

But this isn't some amazing breakthrough that's "just getting started" and this isn't "just the beginning". This is a mature form of old technology that got mature enough to be commercially viable.

Sure, there's still more iterative advancements to squeeze out of this, just like the auto industry was able to squeeze efficiency out of the internal combustion engine for 130 years but you hit a point of diminishing returns and just like with internal combustion engines, AI needs a fundamentally different approach to see a real breakthrough.

GPT models aren't going to become sentient/sapient any more than a gas powered, piston driven engine is going to make you move at warp speed.

I guess it depends on what you mean by quality. If you mean detail, then I'm sure it's just a matter of time. If you mean creativity-wise, then no, these systems can't and won't.

You'd need completely different technologies that either matches/exceeds the capabilities of the human brain or at least does so in terms of artistic creativity, which isn't a standalone thing. What we call creativity or inspiration isn't a self-contained system, it's intertwined with the rest of our brain and pulls from other aspects of how it functions, from our abilities to see, hear, physically feel, emotionally feel, smell, create an internal world model and extrapolate predictions from it, make novel connections between information gathered through experiences which are subjective and unique to the individual.

Generative ML systems can only look at a bunch of examples of something, break it down into chunks of data, how they relate, statistics on how they relate, then use that along with some weights and some pseudo-randomness to help the illusion that something more is going on, then spit out some predictable content.

That content may not seem predictable with a very large model if you haven't seen enough examples of its output but the system is pseudo-deterministic. Even if you use truly random number generation, the output is still going to have follow rules that ultimately make it deterministic, otherwise you'd end up with too much garbage output.

This is why with these models, you have a randomness/temperature setting you can change.

Dude you can't spam and generate masterpiece articles at the same time. Jeez.
Here s another example, i asked chatgpt to generate casino domain names .com , catchy and clickbaity and create link to them to check
It gave me 20
Out of them 20 2 are avialablie to register,
If you still on the fence I don't know what to tell ya.
Here are 2 for free for anyone to register.
Took me 5 min for whole process.
