Idk, don't see much stuff that they can actually do with ai. Deep fakes will surely get limited etc, ai will not be able to create quality content at least not in next 5 years

I dont see that the hype disappeared. There are still people shouting about it on every corner
And about limits - I suppose we now see only starting power of AI, it will be developed to its maximum and it wont in a short period of time

I think it still has some steam in the non-IM/normiesphere
My day job is in finance, and my employer uses an algorithm when a loan application is submitted. The algorithm compares the application against applications which have lost the bank money, and if the app you submitted has too many similarities with loans which were unprofitable, the application auto-declines.
12 months ago explaining this, the average response was usually something about how a human should look at the application because a computer can't use judgement etc
Now when explaining this, people are usually like "WOAH you guys are using AI! So cool!"

The hype hasn’t disappeared whatsoever. In fact, it’s ramping up.
ChatGPT was just the beginning and itself is evolving. Over the next 2 years or so, you’re going to see massive improvements in not only AI but also technology itself.
All major tech companies now have some form of AI incorporated into them. Snapchat, Google Bard, etc.

But the thing is that is so bad to do for your business since ai can't judge people by just their applications, some people might just be bad writters...

I disagree, ai - for ordinary users - makes low-quality content, and for developers - it is possible to work with trainable models and load very large datasets for training. Given the presence of Openai accounts with a large balance for api requests, success will be achieved by those who will work deeper with ai

Covid vaccines aside, medical science has advanced at a snail's pace when compared to technology.

Without getting into a debate, that's incorrect. There is no writing involved in finance applications when we submit - the software (it's not an AI...) looks at financial analysis, security position, and credit history as a few examples of points it references. In fact, the bank I work for has the largest marketshare of business lending in my country, even after implementation of this system.
My point was that people are attributing any kind of software to "AI" regardless of whether it is or not.

it only dissapeared for those that not thinkering on it, and looking for instant solution, and only read on news.
for other now there are ton big project build with their chat gpt api, and it' not limited on this.
just wait few year when you hear this project finished and released.
when people busy think chat gpt not good enought, there are a lot other investing resource and doing the reverse how to make it good enough

i don't really need it for much stuff i do use it for some ideas etc, writing some scripts but that's it
