Been suspicious of this for a while now, but as it seems STEP AWAY FROM THE DISAVOW TOOL. Unless you actively set up unnatural links, YOU DO NOT NEED TO USE THE DISAVOW TOOL. I might have an interesting case study to share on that front soonish. :) -> Google's John Mueller says it's a "terrible idea" to disavow links based on third-party metrics.

Directly do with GSC mate .

Metrics are easily manipulated. So, disavowing the links by considering the third party metrics is not good.

STEP AWAY FROM THE DISAVOW TOOL
John Mueller has said not to disavow links based on third party metrics, because Google doesn't care about these metrics.
He has not suggested not to use disavow tool at all.

Simply it can b done with the help of GSC however you can also do it with ahrefs webmaster, integrate your site with ahrefs webmaster and there you'll find an option of disavow on top right corner of your site section :), anything else ?

Yes, he is right. Metrics can be manipulated easily these days. So, unless you get a warning message from GMT or you know that those links are harmful to your website, you don't need to worry about those links.

I recently removed the disavow list from our site. Literally yesterday in fact. Was in place from before me as SEMrush was telling the old people that there were toxic links that should be removed. As far as I know it should only be used for links such as PBN if you were even on one. Even then if you didn't do it yourself and it isn't hurting, let it ride?
