I got the promo code, redeemed and used it to receive Openai verification code and it worked fine.

If the code doesn't arrive, the credit is automatically refunded. At least in my case it was like that.

I was asking about refunding the money back to the credit card, not back to the balance on their site

Credit card refunds are on a case by case basis. You will need to contact support with the reason for the refund. Any payment made with cryptocurrency is non-refundable as stated on the purchase screen and in the FAQ
If there is an issue with the number provided for the verification as long as you provide us the screenshot of the error you usually get a refund of the credit for that number back in your account.
