Hi guys, do you set a high reserve for your listings so that people will not win it and can get high views because you can set the starting bid to $0.99?

but reserve is expensive especially if it's a high ticket item..

Are you asking this for cookie stuffing? If so, this is exactly what I do, but don't know how many times you can do this without actually selling an item. If I rack up $500 in ebay fees and haven't sold a $300 product, ebay might take notice. don't worry about the reserve cost though, it pays off big time.

yea..i'm doing it for cookie stuffing..any other ideas to work around this?

maybe block buyers that you dont ship to and set to "no shipping: local pick up only"?

what about the $20 featured listing - ever tried that?

I wouldn't do local pickup only. I don't think it will matter because either way ebay will eventually get suspicious.

I've never tried the featured listing. It can't hurt at all. I make about $100 on every $10 I spend on listing fees, so whats the worse that could happen?

I don't think e*gay would care if you ever sell anything or not. They get your (ever increasing) listing fees whether you sell the item or not.

My $.02

thanks for the great tips..do you think i should concentrate stuffing all the big ticket items like iphone or wii? An iphone listing alreadly costs me 8 pounds =(

people who usually browse big ticket items are ready to buy expensive not cheap items right?

I never spend over $0.15 for a listing, I dont care about e*ays rules lol.

If my listing gets reported, I load Turbo Lister and upload another set.

I'd be interested in how you accomplish this, if you're up to sharing it.

to get the most out of listings you need to sell "whats hott" like right now for example is a iphone 3g, the newest version
if you list a auction starting a 0.99 -> you'd save because low starting price
then do a featured listing, this feature is a little costly, but you will attract TONS of visitors because its starting at a low price and the listing stands out more then others, but theres no reserve and you dont have a product, so what you do is bid on your item last min. from a garbage account that you made for this purpose, and place a bid for like 2k, no one is going to top that, and now your stuck with the ebay fees, file a dispute on the winning bidder (which is you, your account you used to win) and there it is, you just got a WHOLE bunch of visitors = MONEY and for FREE

Now i know what your thinking, i cant create a ebay account for ea. listing, well there are people on this forum selling ebay accounts for $5.00 at the end the account you buy will be cheaper then the ebay fees, but be careful and dont get greedy, thats the KEY here.

Goodluck.

I don't get it...why don't you just use your account that you bought for $5 to list your auctions and then just dis the account when it's time to pay the fees? Seems easier.

What are you doing, listing high dollar fake auctions with your legit seller account? They'll probably start trippin if you list a bunch of expensive crap and then file NPB on every listing. And are you buying a $5 account every time you need to shill? Or are you shill winniing multiple auctions with the same seller/buyer pair? I don't think that would be very stealth...besides that's a lot of baby sitting your listings, proxy switching, shill bidding, dispute filing...work.

Usually the hott things that sell on eBay and that has a high traffic volume are veRo items, and eBay has gotten very strict with vero items, the accounts you buy on this forum are verifed to a certain extent, its verified enough so you can list generic items, in order to list the vero items you need to further verify some information, and plus you will need to attach a paypal account to the ebay account you wish to list your vero on, and on top of that there are some important things you need to verify on the paypal account. So the accounts sold on this forum for $5.00, there pretty much garbage accounts in my eyes, so thats why you take the account and use it too your advantage, from your good account - list your items from home or whatever place you list from so its under a safe ip,cleared cookies no beacon threats...etc.etc. you list your auctions, then you go to the library and take your garbage accounts log in place high bids on 1-2 auctions repeat with your other garbage accounts

Its really simple, you list under your good account, place high bids with garbage accounts, in the end no ebay fees, the only fee is buying the ebay accounts which will come cheaper then the ebay fees.

And im not telling you to list high priced items, i never stated that, i said list hott items meaning something thats in high demand like the new version of the apple iphone (3g) its not an expensive item, and you list at 0.99 and watch the amount of traffic to your listing blast off...

And by the way if you list alot of auctions and cookie stuff, you will get caught because you got greedy, every cookie stuffer will tell you there is a limit, and you should not get greedy, go slow and work your way up, so you list 3-4 auctions at a time, im not telling you to go crazy.

In the end you dont babysit anything, maybe your bank account to see how much MOOLA you earned!!!
;)

goodluck.

Thank you for the good luck wishes. I too am currently stuffing on e*Bay, and quite successfully. However, my MO is not the same as yours.

I think the 3G iPh0ne is high dollar enough that if you filed a NPB on a few of them...and completed sales on 0 of them...you might raise some algorithmic eyebrows.

Different strokes for different folks.

Good luck to you also man.

what ever you do, make sure you allow other forms of such as check and money order ..... cuz if you're gonna fuck them over and start selling fake gold watches, e*gay's gonna wonder how you got to a power seller status without forking over fees to egay's big fat ho, gaypal....

No problem at all =D
when i meant "good account" it means that you have some status on ebay, and remember don't always list veRo items,if you have a weak account, do mix and match 1vero today 2/3 generic, next time 2veRo and 2generic, if your account is less then 60 days old i dont recommend you do more then 2 veros at a time. Its the safe way to go...

But ofcourse if you have a stronger account you can push your limits and luck just a little...

;)

Thats not true, you will NEVER reach powerseller status if you never paid ebay fees, because in order to become a powerseller you need to sell on ebay and when you sell on ebay there are fees and when you reach the powerseller range your account auto. goes into review, and if they see you've been playing them then kiss your account good bye, they will give you your account back as soon as you pay them each and very penny you stole from them, thats eBay for ya. ;)

Like i said theres a limit to cookie stuffing and how far you can push some things. Keep control - ALWAYS!!!
you control it or it controls you...

For certain items can you turn on pre approve bids on ebay would that help slow the amount of people bidding on your item but still have people looking at the item.

Yes, you can
you can choose the option of "accepting bids from people with attached paypal accounts" that will in some categories cut your bidders in half and take out most of the dead beat bidders

and then you can restrict people according to location...

have fun with it =D
