Is someone selling aged BHW accounts?

Interesting... I know that as a new member my comment might not count as much. However, this seems to be a trend. I noticed a discussion SO similar to this one over at warriorforum the other day - someone was selling accounts there too. Seems like someone had a plan...

the other thing may be that they posted heaps in the downloads section and lost all their posts when they stopped counting

We have had 4 different people contact me on aim but they said they were not members on this form but wanted to do a jv....strange i would say.Maybe have our profiles closed to guests on the form.

I registered a year ago, but I was just forgot I have account here and I wasnt interested in IM stuffs enough before, and dont posting every topic to increase my post counts..maybe some other old accs have the same situation

When I come to BHW, I click "New Posts". Lately it seems like sales threads and downloads account for a much bigger part of the list.

That, IMO is a bad sign.

I've been thinking about this a fair amount, and while I think it is really possible someone is selling aged bhw accounts somewhere, my bush-league detective skills are actually making me wonder if whoever was behind the malware downloads and/or account hacks of late was also successful in getting a lot of user/pwd's for bhw accounts....I suspect a lot of us who are active here changed our pwd's recently, but if someone phished enough and got a bunch of aged accounts that hadn't been used lately, those pwd's would still be valid....just a thought...

Just proves my point that a purge is what the forum needs

Interesting presumption... this could explain the newbie dickheads.

Also the downturn of the economy(ies) could be to blame. People are resorting to other forms of income to provide, thus noobs. Ordinary Joe's are losing their jobs left and right and this like many other making money type websites are getting bombarded by people that don't have a clue.

I mean most of the regulars on here see 10x's more "How do I make money online?" or "Give me a job, I have to make $200 by the end of the week!" threads a day on BHW than the past.

But that's just an uneducated guess.

whats funny is that those guys post the most ridiculous comments in the world. I remember one was asking how to make money quick because he is poor, someone response is to search Google but the newbie said what is Google? ............

Nothing to do with what the thread is about: old, dormant accounts suddenly popping up again

He specified people that don't post much are acting noobish as well.

Bad Economy + No Job + Internet + Need Money = Time to burn.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed members with aged accounts
and low postcounts acting like total newbie dickheads recently?

lol, I know... newbies start barking about it being in the not share list and that the owner is a BHW member... when these guys are just pro hackers and don't even read the replies, they post and leave waiting for someone to bite

Wow, this is getting worse every day! This place is turining into something worse than DP, if that is even possible. I am seeing users with accounts from 2008 with 3 or 4 posts popping up all over the place and making all sort of idiotic posts.

What the admins need to do is a total purge. Get rid of all the accounts older than a year and with less than 50 posts. They are leeches anyway and won't be missed.

Totally Agree With Nufaman

After reading yet another set of noobie dickhead posts from aged accounts, I agree we need some sort of purge. Something is afoot...

I've seen a couple of accounts registered in Jun 2009 which fit the bill: registered way back, noob questions, low post count, only starting to post now. One account has only made 3 posts all being today.

Yep I noticed that exact same thing with the June of 09 accounts posting dickhead stuff today. And here is another weird one:

In case it gets taken down, it's a member who registered in May of 2008, only a handful (like 5-6 posts total) until this one today trying to spam something via a link shortener. Curiouser and curiouser....

ive noticed that up until 2 months ago alot of my buyers were
active high post members.
but recently ive had a flood of requests from accounts 1/2 yrs
old with 1/3 posts.. requests to which i have declined
