Hello everyone

I want some support in my upcoming link building/link pyramid. I have read a lot of material but much is not relevant today in my opinion. I have collected a lot of good websites for tier1 and start planning to start a little bit in my free time.

How extensive should the pyramid be, like a pyramid or can I be generous with tier 2 and tier 3?

Should I even use tier 4, 5 etc...?

How should I deal with links and anchor texts?
(brand anhor, titel anchor, generic anchor, plane url, LSI?

For how long should I wait before linking tier 1 to the website, or can I start with tier 1 and build it gradually?

I have plenty of .com but if anyone has any good tips on .se
PING to the Swedes who are here!

Most sites in my niche do not have many links and not many Swedish links. Those who have a lot of links have general ones that do not focus on their niche and do not rank well on google. How should I think here? How much really strong links can I build. How many links PA/DA 50-99 can I build?

And how many pure links with some articles or link pyramids are recommended?

You do not need to give me only concrete answers, if you have any links to current material for self-study, I am grateful.

Hope everyone has a nice day!

if you have good T1 links (and even good T2 links) you don't need T4+ links

for homepages you can use 40-60% branded anchors, and the rest of them can be anything.
for inner / category pages I would go for a balanced mix of everything (branded, exact, partial, naked URLs, generic, LSI, etc)

you need to build links gradually anyway. That's not to say that if you blast 250 backlinks to the homepage you won't rank. Given how retarded google had become I wouldn't be surprised to be able to spam your site to the top of the SERPs with Xrumer / GSA / Senuke links.

But if you want to stay safe build them gradually and I guarantee that you won't run into any issues (because of link velocity I mean, if you do other things wrongly you can still run into issues)

You don't need to wait anything. Personally, I like to wait until the pages that I want to build links to get indexed first, but I have no proof whether or not this is needed. It's just how I got used to, so if you want to copy my strategy feel free to do so. But even if you start building links from day 1 (to non-indexed pages even) you can still do it. Just mind the link velocity and the anchor texts, that's all :)

can't help you here, but I don't think it matters what TLDs you get links from

there's no exact science... or number. Just get the best links you can get (best in terms of DR / DA, but preferably UR / PA) and if they're relevant to the linking page's content even better. If not, don't stress about it! As long as they're in-content, d0follow, and have some sort of authority (and they're not from weird-ass or totally unrelated niches) you're good

And how many pure links with some articles or link pyramids are recommended?
what the hell are "pure links"?? You people, sometimes...

There's nothing recommended. Only link velocity and anchor texts are recommended, everything else is relative, ie you build as many of them as you need to rank whichever page you need to rank, for whichever keyword you need to rank, and then either stop (if you can maintain the rankings) or slow down but continue building links (if you start to slowly slide out of the SERPs)

As my first language is not English, it is easy to make mistakes in terms of meaning and choice of words. What I was referring to was a simple link and not a link pyramid. So I am clarifying the question, regarding the number of links and link pyramids I should or should not use.

Tazarbm, Big thanks for all the help!!!

english is not my first language, either (I'm Romanian). Besides, this is not about knowing english, it's about knowing SEO lingo :p

But we all make mistakes, so no problem... Also, you might want to use google translate (or any translating app, not necessarily google) next time, it really does make things easier :)

got it!

The answer is that there's no real answer. All things being equal, you would need 1 more link than your competition, but when it comes to SEO all things are never equal. So, like I said earlier, you need to build as many links as you need to rank. And if you're targeting tough keywords (2-word or 3-word keywords with lots of search volume, usually) then you almost always need at least T2 links if not T3, as well...

For easier keywords (long tail ones and / or keywords with very little search volume, under 100 monthly searches I would say, but again, this is not exact science, it's just something I've noticed in my experience) you might not need link pyramids, you could get away with "pure links" only. But you have to see this for yourself, because - again - it depends on a lot of things, not just the length of the keyword and its search volume. It could also depend on the niche, the intent of the keyword (buyer keywords are usually a bit harder to rank than info keywords, for example), it could also depend on how tough your competition is for that keyword, and god-knows-what else...
