google is a company not goverment. their focus is only profit and nothing we can do about it. heck we don't even know if they already manipulate ranking on some of their own site privately.
we can complain but nothing will come out of it, since this will mostly impact webmaster not the common populace.
That is where you wrong AI will affect almost every job in the planet from doctors, writers, accountants, artists, auditors, journalists, mathematicians, programmers just to name a few. What most people don't get is that AI can do same job for free and it will do a better job than any human and this will happen in a matter of time. Search engines is just the beginning, in my opinion is the way to introduce this technology to the population.
Interesting perspective, IMO it's in Google's interest to keep the traffic on the sites, because adsense is too big a piece of business to cut off revenue from it, and as if it wasn't no traffic = no impressions and clicks.
Yeah, I though the same thing for a while but, that is until I they show us a bit of this new "Project Magi" it seems they can compensate this money by removing websites of the picture with their AI instant answers by keeping all affiliate revenue and creating some new way of ads on chat.
I don't believe that can happen, maybe will make it harder because most of the content will be automatically created so everyone will be able to create content really fast but at the end google has the final desicion and they might take you down sometimes with no reason.
For the AI Chatbots is great that people are creating content massively with AI tools because it keeps people feeding the monster.
Do not worry about it. If it kills the current form of seo, we will jave some new variant ot seo which you can learn and make money with.
I really don't understand when people say that SEO will evolve to this new AI Chat Search Engines. How it will evolve? Since, there is no raking, there is no way to optimize and even worst there is no point for anyone to have a website anymore because of its AI instant Answers. Who is going to be your client bro? And by the way SEO will be unnecessary too because, this AI Chat would make a profile of your searches and will adapt its output to your taste.
For me this situation reminds a some years back when Facebook Fan Pages where the big thing and every one was doing it because it bring tons of traffic but, then Facebook cut this traffic like 80% and from that moment moment on people stop caring about FB Fan Pages and this is the fate I personally see that will happen with websites on the internet.
