I am not a child , I have said it thousands of times on this forum but I am certainly not a veteran , my membership is only a few months old .
I was born when 90% of you were not yet even a project in the minds of their parents , I have seen the evolution of computing since the early days and was fascinated .
Ok , what the fuck does this have to do with the Forum ?
Legitimate question , which I have the pleasure to answer .
The first distinction must be made between the users of the forum , there are those of the old guard of whom I will not talk about because they have an attitude and a way of reasoning in the old school mode , that is the productive one , little bullshit but real facts and results .
With this kind of users it is difficult if not impossible to interact , I think it is not difficult to understand their reasons and probably even I in their place would have broken my balls to be too condescending after dozens of years spent reading the bullshit of the latest arrivals .
Then there are the users I hate and despise , those who think they can make fun of everyone , constantly posting crap for mere personal ego but who in reality the last dollar they saw they got from their mother to buy the snack .
I do not have precise estimates but the latter unfortunately represent a good percentage of the forum users but we can not do anything about it is a generational issue , no one can intervene , the only wise thing to do is to skype their posts and do not give them any weight , they will not lead you to anything good .
How to distinguish them ?
For the first type , you have to do a search among the old posts , there you will find the real value of this wonderful forum .
The second type is easy to recognize , when you read a figure ( often with many zeros ) in the title of their post , then you have a good clue that it is a megalomaniac of the last hour .
If you really have some time to waste take a look at the content , prepare a container for possible gags and read a few lines , without exaggerating because it could seriously harm your mental health .
In principle avoid wasting your time with these posts and these people , of whom save maybe 5% ( I was good ) .
Okay , we have gone quite off topic , now I will tell you why I think this forum is the best resource available on the web .
The mainstays , read administrators , creators or whatever you want to call them , are people who know their stuff .
Competent people , who have created something unique that manages to be at the top despite the crap we see every day from all sides ( social , sites , smoke sellers etc ) .
If you are here and have just enough critical spirit , you will understand from the very beginning that BHW can offer you a lot , it can even change your life but it all depends on you , kind of like in real life .
Just already being on BHW is an added value and you have to be excited about that .
Now it is up to you to know how to make the right choices .
Do not look elsewhere , I have scanned thousands of Forums and I can assure you that they are the bad copy of the bad copy of BHW , in short a shit for which it is not worth wasting even a minute of your life time , I would even name BHW clone Forums but I would surely end up being banned and that is the last thing I would want .
Anyway , I feel like issuing a warning to those who try to copy this forum :
No matter the amount of content , no matter how many resources you have available , none of that matters .
BHW is irreproducible and unique , any attempt to create a copy will only push BHW one step higher and higher .
Having said that in the hope of not being banned I have concluded , forgive the grammatical errors but English is not my native language .
