Outranked By Quora

Hi folks,

Recently seen a strategy regarding Quora & Reddit being easy to outrank and finding keywords that they rank #1 for

But when looking in the SERP, I'm seeing a few sites beat Quora & Reddit but others being beat by these sites

Is it a lack of power?

it could be many reasons:

- lack of power (high authority I assume that you mean by "power"), like you said, but it could also be...
- lack of topical relevancy (when also combined with lack of authority you'll have a hard time outranking even quora)
- lack of good content
- lack of good SEO

It seems some sites are outrank quora or reddit without question but don't seem to have much going on, I suppose they could have a PBN though!

I, personally, use this keyword research strategy (if reddit or quora rank then I can outrank them).
But... yes, your site needs to be aged with some authority.

my nose tells me that it's the content quality (or rather, how well their content addresses the keyword's intent). If they have no content, though... I don't know in this case, I'd have to do some research

Yes, it does occasionally occur as a result of too many factors, including the content's relevancy, authority, backlinks, on-page SEO, user experience, and more.

Maybe that could be the case. Could be more the intent as opposed to the quality.

As everyone said, combination of SEO tactics, content relevancy, content recency can be the reasons that a site can outranked by quora.

It used to be a viable strategy a few years ago. It’s not the same now.

A lot of times, Quora and Reddit pages show up for some really competitive keywords. I have no way to prove it but I believe that they’re there to show a more diverse set of results.

Some times, all the results from 1-30 are targeting and optimised for the keyword. I’ve seen Quora and Reddit ranking for queries like these since all the other articles are essentially the same.
