I think the most important things is to research your market. I mean it have to be a niche that is popular in your country. In my country people loves prank video, most of the new youtubers make those video and get trending in short time.

Most underrated reply of the thread. It is very true. I am not a youtuber myself but I follow quite a few irl. All of them are very timely when it comes to posting content. If they are on a two videos/week routine, they will post two videos no matter what.

It is tough game to survive for a long time, and you must be dedicated.
