I've read about people who got scammed here. As a newbie, this bothers me. What are the most common types of scam in this site?

I’ve never been scammed on BHW. Here’s some tips for you from my own experience:

1. Don’t buy anything via private message. If someone makes an offer to you via private message, report it. That kind of behavior is not allowed on BHW for a reason, because it’s probably a scam.

2. If you want to buy a service only buy from people that have a BST. I am not saying sellers who don’t have a BST are scammers though. I have personally just had good luck only buying from sellers in the marketplace that have a BST (never been scammed).

3. If something is too good to be true, it usually is (use your brain).

when people buy stupid shit that looks too good too be true & don't do any background checks nor research.

I been here for a long time and i purchased alot of things from nearly all type of marketplace here & never been scammed.
I would add the following from my own experience.
4. if the person you are speaking with, feels like they have little to no idea wtf they talking about, chances are, they dont and dont get in bed with them

There is a money laundering going on and the perpetrator has been actively watching the threads in this very site. Please let them communicate with me. I was really trying to figure out how they can communicate with me. I want to explain everything but it might be difficult for me to do so. I somehow managed to get a hold of a popular youtuber who helps out scam victims.

Sorry to hear that. There’s nothing any of us forum members can do to help you. If the scam happened on BHW then you can contact a mod or an admin about it and they will tell you what to do.

OP there are scammers everywhere, online and IRL
BHW does a fantastic job of trying to remove them.
Carry out your own due diligence before dealing with anyone.
Use your common sense, read the guides by @Zwielicht and respect the forum rules, and you will be relatively safe.

Evaluate the online identity's value.

Example: Jr.VIP needs $149 payment and more than 100 posts.

Convert the online identity's associated attributes into a value to associate with the identity.

You can be reasonably assured that transaction within this value, you will not be scammed.

Always search seller's name before buying anything, if they were mentioned in shit list, better avoid it. I was scammed before and took me ages to get my money back though eventually got full refund, thanks to moderators.
