This is a good sign.
If you are alone on etsy trying to sell a product maybe the product you selected is not a good one.

You can see the number of sales a vendor has, so you can estimate if does worth it or not.
For people from EU (as clients) it doesn't look good because of the fuc*ing VAT that is added to the price of the product.

if you're planning on selling highly unique and quality handmade or vintage products I'd say go for it but competitions can be really tough. As for the alternative tools, you could try Marmalead, ERank or etsyrank

- Why "unique" products? You will end up experimenting with all kinds of things and maybe people will buy maybe not.
If everyone sells a product, no matter how many people are selling, it is a sign that the particular product is a good one and people are looking for it. The idea is to sell the same product by offering a better price or a better quality. If there are many competitors it is a sign that you have a good product for sale and all you have to do is to be better than your competitors (give discounts, better quality, give bonuses etc)
- It is no need to try new platforms for selling a product, better to use established and known platforms.

I guess you're right. I just said unique since etsy whole branding and targeted audience is about handmade and unique products. if it comes to a general product, you have other competitors from different platforms to worry about like amazon or alibaba.
