Thats really cool and I bet fun haha, I might try to do this :-)
Outsource a full army of bums!
To bad I dont live in texas where its really hot

A lot of people in my area do this especially near busy intersections. Some supermarkets will have a case of 24 bottles of water on sale for $3.99. So you would be making $24 off of $3.99 I would say that is a good flip. But hey it's 2 damn hot for me to be doing that.

I was always rather fond of the old National Lampoon ad for "Terrier Water; Naturally Sparkling Water From The Centre Of Your Dog!"

Perrier sued them of course and the Lampoon had to apologise.

ive been to a few concerts recently and a lot of bums were outside selling bottled waters for 1 dollar each. on really hot days too, so people were buying them. their main selling point was they can buy water outside for 1 dollar now before they go in and have to pay 5.00 for the same bottle.

i bought some each time, i dont mind helping them out because at least they are attempting some form of work to earn money instead of simply robbing and stuff to get their money like some of those dirtbags do

but i really have fun with the straight-out beggers. they just ask for money for nothing in return. when they come up and ask me for money, i make them earn it.. i have them do stupid shit like flap their wings and make bock-bock noises and walk like a chicken and many other goofy things. sometimes i make them walk up to complete strangers pretending to hold a microphone and serenade complete strangers walking by with elvis songs and so much more.. its well worth the 1 dollar i give them for the great entertainment value, i get many laughs. some of them refuse to do the stupid things so they get no money, they have to work for it lol. but most of the really drunk bums will do just about anything for that dollar

lmfao thats AWFUL but hilarious at the same time

PLEASE get a video next time

I used bums a few years ago for flyering cars in parking lots and in the bigger cities around here, worked awesome and generated a ton of leads for different businesses.

All jokes aside, get a couple of nice polo shirts printed up at your local tshirt shop, couple pairs of khakis at walmart maybe some white sneakers at walmart and you have now made your bum look pretty legit for under $50.

Now have them selling waters at various points in your area and you have a very nice income going overnight.

Most people dont have the balls to do this aka approach bums and set this up, but too bad for them because if you're hurting for cash you can pull in a few hundred a day after all costs.

I saw my idea of using 'bums' (we call them 'homeless people' here) was radical :D The thing is over here it would be radical. My jaw would drop if anyone told me of their bold marketing technique involving any homeless people.
Homeless people are just a nuisance and helpless you see.

Care to brainstorm on how you would get them to handle cash correctly and ensure that they bring the cash back to you ?

A significant proportion of the homeless over here are homeless because any dosh they get together goes immediately to the coffers of the local narcotics smuggling 'industry'.

I had not thought of flyering or water (doh!) but since they sell a boring magazine over here and everyone is bored of the mag I thought of approaching some of the 'regulars' and providing them with some publications of my own (PLR books with catchy covers I would print out and track the sales of).
The other problem would be the distribution of the magazines or whatever other product you are attempting to 'shift' to the 'bums'.

Yes, you GIVE them the first bottle, then they must PAY YOU your price for the bottle, less their commisiion, similar to the manner in which a waitress's bank works.

You will lose a few bottles but even the bums are smart enough to figure it out and they will pay or or they will get no more water!

Speaking as someone who's been homeless when I was younger due to circumstances that were out of my control I think some of the comments here are very offensive.

I'd have given anything for someone to offer me a job like this at the time as long as they treated me with humanity and respect.

In a business which I once owned that involved physical labour, I used "homeless" people almost exclusively and paid them just like anyone else.

I also made certain that my people were fed, as I bought breakfast, lunch and dinner if we worked late.

If we worked really late, I bought the beer and that happened more than once.

One winter when I had an apartment that I'd built in a 25,000 ft warehouse and the warehouse portion was unheated, we put in four or five double barrel woodstoves and picked up all the scrap wooden pallets in town for fuel and the guys would stay in the warehouse if we got back after the shelter closed.

They ended up eschewing the shelter in favour of the warehouse as it was really pretty cool!

The place got to be like a big gypsy camp and eventually the local law suggested that we discontinue but I was able to get the local Sally to put in a plug and we ran it for almost a year and a half that way!

If I've written anything which you might have found offensive it's not meant to be that way; only because I understand and have a sort of bizarre sense of humour.

Someone who lives in a rented apartment is always between three and thirty days of being "homeless"; lease or not.

All of the variable rate mortgages are going to create a ton of "homeless" people as well.

I'm lucky as after the Big Debacle of A Few Years Back, I had "the old home place" to fall back on!

A few of the guys who worked with me were able to get back into the system and become what white people call "real people"; that is, people with houses, cars and "real" jobs and the work that my company provided gave them the chance so I feel pretty good about that but take no credit as they did it themselves.

I thought it might be a cool idea to sell private labeled water, but take a different approach and market it to the "weight-loss" consumers as "Diet Water" (lol) :)

Due to your (over)exposure to IM Wiz you now have 'PLR' imprinted on the brain ;)
