Then why doesn't everyone in every category or niche simply flood the competition with fake views from garbage SMM panels and sabotage the channel?

And of course youtube wouldn't destroy high viewing organic channels because someone sends a bunch of fake views. They like organic channels.

hmmmm. or am I flying too close to the sun on this one :D

I'm referring to YouTube specifically. But same goes for Google or anyone. People could buy blatantly fake views for a negative impact on competitors

Why focus on trying to harm competitors when you can focus on making yourself better. That's a waste of effort in my opinion. Youtube doesn't like garbage views and that still stands.

You misunderstand. This is a question about buying views for your own gain and if it can harm your own channel. It's simply an interesting thought that if it was harmful, it would be easy to harm other channels. Which of course it is not.

I cant speak for youtube but I do know people who can basically take down someones website with fake visits and crazy backlink spam. You would think disavow can save them but its just too much spam for a webmaster to deal with. Only massive sites can survive certain spam attacks. As to why people don't do these things more often? maybe self-morals. The mentality to potentially destroy someone else's life is different than the one to build up your own. You also for the most part will only get slightly more traffic if you didn't have content covering every single thing that channel has ever made, so the trade-off on killing a website or channel and moving only 1-3 spots up on a few keywords probably isn't always that good.
Most people believe in something at least a little bigger than themself so you might also feel that taking down others just to make yourself slightly better is gonna hit you hard in the long run. Karma or whatever word someone's culture calls it.

If you're big enough to have people trying to pull that type of shit on you, google and social media in general take that into account. Back in the day they used to try to kick you out of adsense by clicking your ads. If you're a nobody that can destroy you, but a big site or someone popular won't get affected by it.

BUMP - Still curious about this. Looking to get into youtube and starting in 2023 seems impossible by legitimate means.
