Well the advantage are free of cost but we have more disavantages in my opinion : limited capability and limited control
Plus its not your propriety and if google decide to close your website you cannot do anything
I remember when i work in the past with a free blogger platform and i was making like 20$ daily and i was very happy as it was autopilot money
Then guess what in one morning my blog was deleted because of copyright complain so it was like a hammer in my head that morning

Yeah it save money but you cannot customize the theme, I also trying to make a free website for my business, but due limited customization it is impossible so you must have to go toward WordPress, that is best.
