Are backlinks to blog posts beneficial

If you are being offered a backlink to your blog post should you accept it? The backlink meets all criteria my question is just this:

1. Will the backlink have big effects on home page ranking? (Assuming the backlink is strong)

I would say it should have some effects. However, I'm unsure if it would be worth it at all.

A single link is won't have a significant impact, but if it is coming from a reputable site, I see no reason why you would reject it.

Don't expect magic from a single link. If it's an elite-level site, it might impact the ranking of the page the link is pointing to, but moving the homepage rankings with a single link pointed to a blog post is pretty unrealistic.

I've read where people delete the blog post and redirect it to the home page. I heard that Google doesn't give the link juice to the home page if its not similar to the blog post itself and you will also get a fraction of the link juice. Any thoughts?

It's hard to say exactly what amount of link juice is passed in that scenario, but I would say that some amount of link juice is passed.

1. Yes - if the backlinks comes from a relative and strong domain , then it will affect your rankings (for new sites without good backlink profile)

it can be true that all link juice won't be transferred.
what do you mean by similar? you mean two different niches or just a bit different

Like, The blog post is about how to brush your pet and your home page is about selling pet related things.

considered as a natural back link but doesn’t have the same value

For sure, you will get an advantage from that link to some extent.
