I run a general store that promotes products from home decor to kids toys. I am currently using different pixels per category via a plugin of mine. So pixel1 is assigned to home decor, pixel2 is assigned to kids toys, etc. This should allow FB to better segment products and find similar audiences for each product in their respective niche.
However....there are also people stating that you should use the SAME pixel across separate ad accounts. This will separate the categories via ad account because "supposedly" pixel optimization is done via ad account and not via each different pixel. My issue with that theory is, why have the ability to use 100 pixels per ad account if FB can't separate niches according to each pixel? This doesn't make sense to me.
I'm hoping this reaches someone who has extensively tested both methods, spoke to a Facebook pixel rep over it, or all of the above.
