Hey guys! Any advise , how to keep your work computer and desktop clean? I mean, i have tons of files on it. My desktop is flooded.

I usually write something important in notepad or sheet or skype. But i open multiple sheets, notepads.. I mean, my work desktop seems quite messy and complicated.

I have a question guys for those who work full time online. Any idea how to keep your work computer clean and find the files in comfortable places, not overcrowd everything with the details?

How do you guys deal with that?

Thank you!

1) ctrl + a, -> ctrl + x
2) create folder "desktop_{month}_{year}" under My Documents
3) ctrl + v
4) never go there again

Method works just fine, I have folders back from year 2013, they have survived many computers, moved from windows to linux and now to mac.

Never ever needed a single damn file from them.

Still doing it.

Yeah, honestly, I do this as well. it's not a very graceful tactic, but when you work with a lot of files, sometimes it's just easier to do this.

I have actually gone back to sort them out, but I only do it every year or so.

Edit: obviously, don't do this with files for clients. Keep those organised for them.

To being honest being to organized is not my thing but I tried to put everything in a notepad and out the month and year and write everything there, copy links tips information I saw and eveything is divided using ascii characters to identify topics, divisions, links, really important things, don't forget things, when I start a new month create a new notepad and start all over againnew month and year name and follow the same structure.
