Hey guys,

Just wanting to find out what a reasonable rate is for a video editor?

Up until now, I have always done my own editing. But want to outsource it.

It's nothing complicated - 10-12 minute videos mainly consisting of stock footage and some images relating to the video.

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Just think how long it takes you to edit a video then think of an hourly rate. Or look at what you can afford to spend per video that will return profit

For really basic editing you can find people for 5-10$ per hour. My experience is that they're generally not that good/creative. In the end you get what you pay for.

It all depends on the complexity of the editing a higher level should be on Upwork perhaps?

I supposed $15 per hour is a reasonable charge for video editing. Unless, you wanted cheap ones with cheap quality as well.

Post in hire a freelancer section and i will apply haha ;D

Hey everyone, thanks for your responses.

I get some of you are editors and looking for a gig, but I was kind of just wanting to find out the ballpark figure cost for a 10-12 video to be edited. i.e. if I was to hire someone here or on Upwork, how much would be reasonable to offer i.e. $25 or $35 per video etc.

I wouldn't do it by the hour as it gives no incentive to edit quickly. Plus, it allows the editor to earn more for potentially fewer hours.

you can edit yourself .it is easy
how long did it take you to learn said software to get a video on yt? just curious as to how much time one needs to apply to learn to edit then put it on yt, thanks.

Finding the right video editor may take some time, but it can be worth the investment if it frees up your time and allows you to focus on other aspects of your business or content creation.

I have hired one from upwork and he is charged me $200 for 10 mins video edits. You can find better if you post here in HAF section.

You can get an editor for monthly salary. Pay will depend on country.

Well go to freelancing sites and search for video editors and make yourself an idea on what prices they have etc

You can find video editor from Hire a Freelancer .

I would say for a basic 10-minute video, you should be able to pay around $35-$50. For stuff like masking, highlights, transitions, etc. the rate should be $100 for a 10-minute video. If you can show me what type of video you want, maybe I can create for you.

For that type of work you're probably looking at $150-300 per video depending on where you hire from. Freelancers on Upwork might charge $20-40/hour, so figure 4-6 hours of work for a 12 minute video with basic cuts and stock footage.

If you go with someone overseas you could get it cheaper, maybe $80-150 range, but communication can be tricky sometimes.

I was in your exact situation about a year ago - doing everything myself but getting burned out. Tried a few different freelancers but kept having issues with turnaround times and having to explain my style over and over.

Actually ended up going with http://yourvideoeditor.com and it's been way smoother. They charge per video instead of hourly which I prefer, and they already have all the stock footage libraries so I don't have to source that stuff anymore. Plus they get my brand style now so no more back and forth revisions.

But yeah, if you want to try the freelancer route first, budget around $200-250 per video and you should find someone decent. Just make sure to see samples of their work that match your style before committing.

Rate differs depending on how skilled the freelancer is and how much he is willing to charge. You will definitely find varieties of freelancers to source for with varying pricing on fiverr. But at least budget 20-30$
