Yes, YT is very strict on this, it's not safe to use with same IP. Anytime they will block the videos.

If you are doing 3-4 channels, it will not be an issue. Most people are trying with this much channels before seeing any success. But if you are spamming with 100s of channels, it is recommended to use unique IP for each channel.

If you are not engaging with the other channels or same videos on multiple channels, you will be fine.
I have had a lot of channels on the same IP, I have even used them to leave comments on my main channel and had no issue but if you plan on engaging on the same video with all channels and it is more than 5, then use unique IPs.

How would one go about getting unique IPs for each channel (in the case of 100s of channels.) Wouldn't proxies be prohibitively expensive? I imagine you'd eat up a lot of data fast uploading at that scale.

Would dedicated unmetered residential proxies achieve the same effect?

I've found I'm only able to stay logged in if I store cookies and use same IP address each time am account is accessed. Would I be able to re-access old IP's if I use this modem IP rotation method?

Currently, I'm running a webhosted YT uploader remotely and routing it through a proxy I set up on my home network. If I could turn that one IP into many via modem IP rotation, and re-access specific IPs, that would be the perfect solution for me.

so many people have no clue and just parrot some nonsense they heard from somewhere. You can absolutely run multiple yt accounts with the same IP but you need to store cookies for each account or keep cookies blank for each account every time you stop using it
It also depends how you are using accounts, but if it's like regular user and one account at a time you don't even need proxies if your IP is clean

people give these companies too much credit and it becomes all knowing god in their eyes

this is the same like people parroting "content is king", "backlinks are dead" for years yet some people still rank with pure spam even these days.

I ran multiple channels successfully for 2-3 years in the past. But then one channel went down and gradually all the channels went down one by one. I think it happened because they were related to the simple origin.

I think if I had kept these channels on separate emails / machines / IP's then other channels would not have suffered.

These days I am starting a new experiment by creating a new fresh channel from a new IP, device and email. Let's see what happens with it.

VM for spam youtube channels? Nonsense, unless you like to over complicate things

You can use multiple channels. But you have to choose different niches for your YouTube channels.

Better to change IP. This is more important if you are doing things like cpa because YouTube does not like such activities very much.

there is no problem, as long as you are not uploading the same types of videos on each different channel because youtube will flag it as spam, they need to be different.
