TikTok has been lying to us?

Hi BHW fam,

So recently i have been doing as much research as I can on TikTok to better understand how it works.
I came across a thread in BHW talking about how the videos that are going viral or not being shown are not only selected by the algorithm but by humans aswell.
This whole time i was under the impression it was me vs the algorithm but knowing that humans can click a button and choose whether or not something goes viral or not makes a big difference for me.
So my question to all you beautiful people is: Is this true? are humans deciding whether or not a video goes Viral?

I strongly suggest you to examine all of the Twitter Files. Every social media website has a dedicated team to inspect content and suppress (or enhance) the post's or the entire account's reach if necessary.

all algo my friend. The more you are active the more your videos be shown to the general audience based on interest

The human input only reviews the flagged ones afaik, everything else in the pool can become viral.

They push a few videos according to their own agenda, sure, but most viral videos are decided by the algo. It wouldn't make sense otherwise.

I dont think we will ever really know 100% but I would doubt that they have a large enough team to review content. as mentioned above im sure they only review flagged content then the rest is the algorithm. if it does well it gets pushed more
