If a domain get algorithmic penalty in google update. Is it good to drop that domain and start new one or keep trying to rank that one only... When you consider that it is time to change domain name and start fresh...

How do you make sure that you have been hit with algorithmic penalty? Did your traffic flattened suddenly?

If it has not increased over a period of few weeks, even after the Google dance is over, then ideally it is the time to switch to the new domain.

No matter if you start with a new one, you can't use the same content that is on the previous domain, so it basically means start over.

Drop like this..impression became zero...and no sign of improvement after weeks...

These metrics are from 2019? If it's just an example of the situation, then it's better to start fresh.
It is just e.g. real situation is same...300 impression per day to 10 impression per day..

If you are not able to regain traffic even after 6 months efforts, you should move to new domain name.

Hello,
Changing a domain name can be a significant decision and should be carefully considered. Here are some factors to consider when deciding the best time to change your domain name:

  1. Business cycle: Consider your business cycle and choose a time when changing your domain name will have the least impact on your customers and revenue. For example, if you have a seasonal business, it may be better to change your domain name during the off-season.
  2. Traffic: Look at your website traffic patterns and choose a time when traffic is generally low. This will minimize the risk of losing visitors and search engine ranking.
  3. Content update: If you are planning to update your website's content, then it may be an excellent time to change your domain name. This will allow you to incorporate the new domain name into the updated content.
  4. Branding change: If you are rebranding your business, changing your domain name can be a natural part of the process. In this case, it may be best to change your domain name at the same time as other rebranding efforts.
  5. SEO: If you are concerned about search engine optimization, consider changing your domain name during a time when your website is not ranking well. This will give you an opportunity to start fresh with a new domain name and improve your search engine rankings.
In general, it is best to change your domain name when it is necessary and will have the least impact on your business. If you are unsure when the best time to change your domain name is, consider consulting with a professional to guide you through the process.

If your domain much needed, you can upgrade it; otherwise, you can skip that one and create a new one. Whenever you set up a fresh domain, you can focus on quality works such as, putting high-quality contents on it to avoid penalties and some other difficulties.
